Detailed Description

Complete technical specification and implementation details from the patent document.

The present general inventive concept relates generally to a Christmas ornament, and particularly, to a modular Christmas ornament.

Conventional Christmas ornaments are made from fragile materials, which are brittle and dangerous for children.

However, Christmas ornaments are often beautiful and interesting, making them appealing to children.

Therefore, there is a need for a Christmas ornament that is safe for children to touch, manipulate, and to play with at any time.

The present general inventive concept provides a modular Christmas ornament.

Additional features and utilities of the present general inventive concept will be set forth in part in the description which follows and, in part, will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the general inventive concept.

The foregoing and/or other features and utilities of the present general inventive concept may be achieved by providing a modular Christmas ornament, including an internal decoration disposed within the ornament body, and an ornament body magnet disposed at a top portion of the ornament body, an ornament cap, including an ornament cap magnet disposed within the ornament cap to correspond to the ornament body magnet, such that the ornament cap is magnetically and removably connected to the ornament body.

The modular Christmas ornament may further include a hanger to connect to a top portion of the ornament cap to allow the modular Christmas ornament to be hung from an external object.

Various example embodiments (a.k.a., exemplary embodiments) will now be described more fully with reference to the accompanying drawings in which some example embodiments are illustrated. In the figures, the thicknesses of lines, layers and/or regions may be exaggerated for clarity.

Accordingly, while example embodiments are capable of various modifications and alternative forms, embodiments thereof are shown by way of example in the figures and will herein be described in detail. It should be understood, however, that there is no intent to limit example embodiments to the particular forms disclosed, but on the contrary, example embodiments are to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the scope of the disclosure. Like numbers refer to like/similar elements throughout the detailed description.

It is understood that when an element is referred to as being “connected” or “coupled” to another element, it can be directly connected or coupled to the other element or intervening elements may be present. In contrast, when an element is referred to as being “directly connected” or “directly coupled” to another element, there are no intervening elements present. Other words used to describe the relationship between elements should be interpreted in a like fashion (e.g., “between” versus “directly between,” “adjacent” versus “directly adjacent,” etc.).

The terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting of example embodiments. As used herein, the singular forms “a,” “an” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms “comprises,” “comprising,” “includes” and/or “including,” when used herein, specify the presence of stated features, integers, steps, operations, elements and/or components, but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, integers, steps, operations, elements, components and/or groups thereof.

Unless otherwise defined, all terms (including technical and scientific terms) used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which example embodiments belong. It will be further understood that terms, e.g., those defined in commonly used dictionaries, should be interpreted as having a meaning that is consistent with their meaning in the context of the relevant art. However, should the present disclosure give a specific meaning to a term deviating from a meaning commonly understood by one of ordinary skill, this meaning is to be taken into account in the specific context this definition is given herein.

The modular Christmas ornament, and all components therein and/or connected thereto, may be constructed from at least one of metal, plastic, stone, glass, ceramics, wood, silicone, paper, cloth, circuitry, and rubber, etc., but is not limited thereto, and can be constructed from any material known to one of ordinary skill in the art.

Referring to, the modular Christmas ornamentmay include an ornament body, an ornament cap, and a hanger, but is not limited thereto.

The ornament bodymay include an internal decorationand an ornament body magnet, but is not limited thereto.

As depicted in, the internal decorationmay be disposed within the ornament body, and may be provided in plurality or as a single decoration within the ornament body. Any type of decoration may be included as the internal decoration, but preferably, since this is a Christmas-oriented inventive concept, the internal decorationwould be a Christmas-related decoration, such as a star, a snowman, a Santa Claus, a reindeer, etc.

Preferably, the ornament bodyshould be constructed from a transparent or semi-transparent material, so that the internal decorationmay be visible by a user. Also, the ornament bodyshould be constructed from a durable material to allow the modular Christmas ornamentto be utilized and played with by a child.

The ornament body magnetmay be disposed at a top portion of the ornament body, and may correspond to the ornament capto magnetically be connected thereto.

The ornament capmay include an ornament cap magnetand an ornament cap hanger receiving portion, but is not limited thereto.

The ornament cap magnet may be disposed within the ornament cap body, and may correspond to the ornament body magnetto allow the ornament bodyto be magnetically connected to the ornament cap.

The ornament cap hanger receiving portionmay have an aperture to receive a portion of the hangertherethrough, to allow the modular Christmas ornamentto be hung on a Christmas tree.

The hangermay be any type of hanger device, including, but not limited to, a ring, a hook, a clip, etc.

Accordingly, a parent can hang the modular Christmas ornamentonto a Christmas tree by using the hanger. If a child wishes to play with the modular Christmas ornament, the child can simply pull on the ornament body, which will magnetically detach from the ornament cap, thereby allowing the child to play with the ornament body(which has the internal decorationthereinside), while leaving the ornament capstill attached to the Christmas tree via the hanger.

When the child is finished playing with the ornament body, the child (or the parent) can quickly and easily magnetically connect the ornament bodyto the ornament cap.

The present general inventive concept may include a modular Christmas ornament, including an ornament body, including an internal decorationdisposed within the ornament body, and an ornament body magnetdisposed at a top portion of the ornament body, an ornament cap, including an ornament cap magnetdisposed within the ornament capto correspond to the ornament body magnet, such that the ornament capis magnetically and removably connected to the ornament body.

The modular Christmas ornamentmay further include a hangerto connect to a top portion of the ornament capto allow the modular Christmas ornamentto be hung from an external object.

Although a few embodiments of the present general inventive concept have been shown and described, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that changes may be made in these embodiments without departing from the principles and spirit of the general inventive concept, the scope of which is defined in the appended claims and their equivalents.
