A multi-purpose bag includes a bag unit and two straps. The bag unit has a bag bottom, a front bag segment, a rear bag segment, and two limiting passages formed on the rear bag segment. This application claims priority to Taiwanese Invention Patent Application No. 113119031, filed on May 23, 2024, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated by reference herein.

The disclosure relates to a bag, and more particularly to a multi-purpose bag.

A conventional multi-purpose bag, as disclosed in Taiwanese Utility Model Patent No. M574427, includes two pairs of male fasteners adjacent to a bag opening of the conventional multi-purpose bag, two pairs of female fasteners adjacent to the bag opening, a pair of attachment belts adjacent to a bag bottom of the conventional multi-purpose bag, and two straps. The straps are removably fastened to the male fasteners and the female fasteners, so the conventional multi-purpose bag may be carried on a shoulder or held in a hand. When ends of the straps are fastened respectively to the attachment belts, the conventional multi-purpose bag may be carried as a backpack. As a result, the conventional multi-purpose bad is suitable for business, outdoor recreations, or daily activities.

However, the straps need to be frequently removed and fastened to change the conventional multi-purpose bag for different carrying manners, thereby causing use of the conventional multi-purpose bag to be time-consuming and inconvenient. Moreover, such a way of fastening the straps may easily cause the straps to be detached when the conventional multi-purpose bag is subjected to an external force (e.g., a pulling force).

Therefore, an object of the disclosure is to provide a multi-purpose bag that can alleviate at least one of the drawbacks of the prior art.

According to the disclosure, a multi-purpose bag includes a bag unit and a strap unit.

The bag unit has a bag bottom, a front bag segment, a rear bag segment, and two limiting passages. The front bag segment is located at a front portion of the bag unit and is connected to the bag bottom. The rear bag segment is located at a rear portion of the bag unit, is connected to the bag bottom, and is spaced apart from the front bag segment. The two limiting passages are formed on the rear bag segment and are distal from the bag bottom.

The strap unit includes two straps that are crossed over each other. Each of the straps extends movably through a respective one of the limiting passages, and has a front connection end, a rear connection end, and an adjustment strap portion. The front connection end that is connected to the front portion of the bag unit. The rear connection end is connected to the rear portion of the bag unit, and is disposed adjacent to the bag bottom. The adjustment strap portion is disposed between the front connection end and the rear connection end, and is measured from the rear connection end to the respective one of the limiting passages.

Each of the straps is movable to transform between a shoulder bag state and a backpack state.

When the straps are in the shoulder bag state, the adjustment strap portion of each of the straps has a first length, and the straps cooperate with the bag unit to define a shoulder space therebetween.

When the straps are in the backpack state, the adjustment strap portion of each of the straps has a second length greater than the first length, and each of the straps cooperates with the bag unit to define a back hanging space therebetween.

The features may be oriented differently (e.g., rotated 90 degrees or at other orientations) and the spatially relative terms used herein may be interpreted accordingly.

Referring to, a multi-purpose bag according to an embodiment of the disclosure includes a bag unitand a strap unit.

The bag unitserves as a flexible bag body that has a bag bottom, a front bag segment, a rear bag segment, two connecting ring members, and two limiting ring members.

The front bag segmentis located at a front portion of the bag unitand is connected to the bag bottom.

The rear bag segmentis located at a rear portion of the bag unit, is connected to the bag bottom, and is spaced apart from the front bag segmentin a front-rear direction (X). The rear bag segmentand the front bag segmentcooperatively define a bag openingthat is disposed above the bag bottomin a top-bottom direction (Z) perpendicular to the front-rear direction (X).

Each of the connecting membersis connected the rear bag segment, is distal from the bag opening, and is disposed adjacent to the bag bottom. The connecting membersare spaced apart from each other in a left-right direction (Y) perpendicular to the front-rear direction (X) and the top-bottom direction (Z).

In this embodiment, the bag unitfurther has two limiting passagesthat are formed on the rear bag segmentand that are distal from the bag bottom. The two limiting passagesare spaced apart from each other in the left-right direction (Y).

The two limiting ring membersare connected to the rear bag segment, are disposed adjacent to the bag opening, and are distal from the bag bottom. Each of the limiting ring membersis aligned with a respective one of the connecting membersin the top-bottom direction (Z). Each of the limiting ring membersdefines a respective one of the limiting passages. The limiting passagesare spaced apart from each other in the left-right direction (Y).

The strap unitincludes two strapsthat are crossed over each other. Each of the strapsextends movably through a respective one of the limiting passages. Each of the strapshas a front connection end, a rear connection end, and an adjustment strap portion. The front connection endis connected to the front bag segment, is disposed adjacent to the bag opening, and is distal from the bag bottom. The rear connection endis connected to the rear portion of the bag unitand is disposed adjacent to the bag bottom. The adjustment strap portionis disposed between the front connection endand the rear connection end, and is measured from the rear connection endto the respective one of the limiting passages. In this embodiment, each of the connecting membersinterconnects the rear connection endof a respective one of the strapsand the rear bag segment. The front connection endsof the strapsare spaced apart from each other in the left-right direction (Y). The rear connection endsof the strapsare spaced apart from each other in the left-right direction (Y). The front connection endsof the strapsare sewed to a top edge of the front bag segment.

The strap unitfurther includes two strap adjustersare respectively connected to the straps. Each of the strap adjustersis slidable relative to a respective one of the strapsfor adjusting a length of the respective one of the straps. Since the strap adjustersare well known to those skilled in the art, further details thereof are omitted herein for the sake of brevity.

When the strapsare in the shoulder bag state, the adjustment strap portionof each of the strapshas a first length (L), and the strapscooperate with the bag unitto define a shoulder spacetherebetween. In this embodiment, when the strapsare in the shoulder bag state, the shoulder spaceis situated directly over the bag openingin the top-bottom direction (Z), the adjustment strap portionof each of the strapssubstantially abuts against the rear bag segment, and the strapsare allowed to be lifted up.

When the strapsare in the backpack state, the adjustment strap portionof each of the strapshas a second length (L) greater than the first length (L), and each of the strapscooperates with the bag unitto define a back hanging spacetherebetween. In this embodiment, when the strapsare in the backpack state, the strapsare allowed to be pulled curvedly away from the rear bag segmentof the bag unit, and the back hanging spacesare situated at a rear side of the rear bag segmentin the front-rear direction (X).

A user needs only to pull the strapsupwardly or rearwardly relative to the bag unitso as to drive the strapsto move respectively through the limiting passages, thereby adjusting the adjustment strap portionof each of the strapsto have the first length (L) or the second length (L) for transforming each of the strapsinto the shoulder bag state or the backpack state.

When the strapsare in the shoulder bag state, the shoulder spaceallows a hand, an arm, and a shoulder of the user to extend therethrough. As a result, the user may carry the multi-purpose bag of the disclosure in the hand, on the shoulder, or in a cross-body manner.

Referring toin combination with, when the strapsare in the backpack state, the arms of the user are allowed to extend respectively through the back hanging spaces. As a result, the multi-purpose bag of the disclosure is carried in a backpack manner. Specifically, in the backpack state, the strapsare crossed over each other above the bag opening. Pulling the strapsrearwardly from the rear bag segmentnarrows the bag openingsuch that the bag openingis closed.

As shown in, the bag unithas a passage-defining member′ that replaces the limiting ring members(as shown in) and that is connected to a top portion of the rear bag segment. The passage-defining member′ has a rectangular shape. The passage-defining member′ and the rear bag segmentcooperatively define the limiting passages. Specifically, the passage-defining member′ is sewed onto the rear bag segment.

As shown in, the bag unithas two passage-defining members′ that are spaced apart from each other in the left-right direction (Y) and that respectively replace the limiting ring members(as shown in). Each of the passage-defining members′ cooperates with the rear bag segmentto define a respective one of the limiting passages.

For manufacturers, the multi-purpose bag of the disclosure is simple in structure to make and manufacturing cost of the same may be reduced. For consumers, the multi-purpose bag of the disclosure is easy to use. Multiple purposes of usage may be satisfied by purchasing one multi-purpose bag of the disclosure. The multi-purpose bag of the disclosure is flexible in function so there is no need of purchasing multiple bags. As a result, material waste may be reduced and less space is occupied, thereby achieving the goal of being environmental friendly.

2. Because the strapsare crossed over each other, when the strapsare in the shoulder bag state, the strapscooperate with the bag unitto define the shoulder space, and the shoulder spaceis situated directly over the bag openingin the top-bottom direction (Z). As a result, when the multi-purpose bag of the disclosure is carried in the hand, on the shoulder, or in a cross-body manner, the strapsare not required to be gathered together, thereby preventing the bag openingfrom being distorted and deformed.
