Technical Abstract

An electronic language game includes a game board with a path and a plurality of language cards. A plurality of human figurines is distributable along the path on the game board and a plurality of alien figurines is distributable along the path on the game board. A plurality of game pieces is assigned to a respective player and each game piece is positionable on the path on the top surface of the game board. A pair of dice is tossed by a respective player and the game piece that is assigned to the respective player is movable along a number of the spaces in the path indicia which corresponds to a number that is displayed on the pair of dice when the pair of dice is tossed.

The disclosure relates to language games and more particularly pertains to a new language game for teaching foreign languages using mnemonics and alien lore. The game includes a game board which has a path indicia and a plurality of language cards that each has language challenge indicia in various languages. The game includes a plurality of game pieces that are each structured to resemble a flying saucer that are assigned to a respective player. The game includes a plurality of human figurines and a plurality of alien figurines that can be distributed along the path on the game board and which are employed by the players during game play. The game includes a speaker integrated into the game board to emit audible instructions for game play and a microphone integrated into the game board to detect phrases spoken by the players.

The prior art relates to language games including a variety of language games that each at least includes a game board and a path applied to the game board and a variety of instructional cards that each has language challenges or phrases for players to attempt to master. In several instances the language games include electronics that are integrated into the game board to dictate game play. In no instance does the prior art disclose an electronic language game that includes a game board which has path indicia and game pieces structured to resemble a flying saucer and human figurines and alien figurines that are distributable along the path indicia and a speaker that emits audible instructions and a microphone that detects spoken phrases by players.

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a game board with a path and a plurality of language cards. A plurality of human figurines is distributable along the path on the game board and a plurality of alien figurines is distributable along the path on the game board. A plurality of game pieces is assigned to a respective player and each game piece is positionable on the path on the top surface of the game board. A pair of dice is tossed by a respective player and the game piece that is assigned to the respective player is movable along a number of the spaces in the path indicia which corresponds to a number that is displayed on the pair of dice when the pair of dice is tossed.

The language translation module interprets the word and the explanation spoken by the playerand the speakerwill emit a tone which corresponds to the number of correct responses the playerhas spoken. The playerwith the most correct responses wins the game.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure.
