This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63/780,779 filed Mar. 31, 2025 and titled “NUT DICE GAME KIT AND METHOD OF PLAYING”, which is hereby incorporated by reference herein in its entirety, including any figures, tables, or drawings or other information.
This disclosure relates to a kit and method for playing a dice game. The kit may be used to play a variety of dice games. More specifically and without limitation, this disclosure relates to a kit comprising a plurality of dice, a plurality of washers, a score-remembering tool, and a cup.
Kits for playing games are well known in the art and are frequently used to provide users with individual entertainment, group activity, passage of time, and the like. There are countless types, forms and designs of dice game kits known in the art. Generally speaking, these kits supply a plurality of dice, a method of rolling the dice, or a set of rules for users to play a variety of different games.
Kits for playing dice games generally consist of six-sided dice. Many kits currently used may consist of rules specific to having a six-sided set of dice. Dice game kits are typically manufactured with materials meant for a clean playing environment. In addition, dice game kits are generally unable to withstand the dice being rolled in a rough environment or dropped from tall heights without suffering damage. The result is that the kit may be unavailable for use when a user wants to play a dice game, creating a problem for the user who wants to play a game.
A number of different designs have been used to create a dice game kit. These devices must be able to effectively provide a user with the ability to play a game of chance in connection with various sets of rules. One such design consists of dice made of six-sided cubes and a cup to roll the dice from. While this design provides dice for a user to play a game with, the design does not allow a user to change the number of possible outcomes from the rolling of each die. Additionally, previous designs may not include a device for rolling the dice which may unpredictably alter the trajectory of the dice as they are rolled. Such designs may provide for decreased unpredictability of playing a dice game.

100 High Straight Nuts: A sequential set of nutsending at the highest value (e.g., rolling a hand of 2-3-4-5-6).
100 Five of a Kind Nuts: Five nutsshowing the same number (e.g., rolling a hand of 5-5-5-5-5).
100 Snowman Nuts: When two nutsland upright and stacked on top of one another, resembling the stacking of snowballs in making a snowman.
100 Two Snowman Nuts: When two pairs of two nutsland upright and stacked on top of one another, resembling the stacking of snowballs in making a snowman.
Other scoring outcomes may be used and are hereby contemplated for use.
150 100 100 100 150 150 150 The kit components may be used in a variety of games involving rolling nut-based dice, comparing outcomes, and tracking the highest outcome during a round. Exemplary rules are described herein solely to illustrate interaction with the physical components and are not limiting. To start the game, each player must place one washerinto the pot. Each player then gets a single turn for each round. After three rolls of their nuts, a player's turn is over, unless they are feeling lucky and think they can improve their hand with another roll of their nuts. After a player's initial three rolls, a player can buy another roll of their nutsby depositing a washerinto the pot, assuming they still have washers. A player can continue to buy rolls as long as they have a washerto put in the pot.
300 300 302 304 308 304 306 308 306 310 308 306 300 300 310 300 The remembering boltis used to keep track of the player with the highest hand in each round. The remembering boltis used by placing the bolt on its head, so the bolt's bearing faceis facing upwards. A revealing washeris placed against the bearing face, which displays the potential scoring outcomesof the game. The revealing washerdisplays only one potential scoring outcomethrough a viewing windowthat extends through the revealing washer. The first player to start the round starts by displaying their scoring outcomeon the remembering bolt, until another player obtains a higher hand in the round. If and when another player rolls a higher hand in the current round, the remembering boltis passed to that player and the viewing windowis adjusted to reveal the current highest hand. The remembering boltcontinues to be passed between players if a new highest hand is rolled for the round.
150 100 100 200 100 When a player runs out of washers, they cannot take any more turns rolling the nuts, until the next round starts. After a player is done with their rolls, they pass the nutsand the cupto the next player. The round stops after each player has rolled the plurality of nutsfor all they're worth and made their best hand. Best hand wins the current pot.
150 150 150 150 150 10 Rounds continue until there are only two players remaining with washers. The two players then must go all in, regardless of the washercount each player has. You are never out of the game as long as you have one washerleft. You can still win the game if you are down to your last washer. The final round is played by each of the two remaining players rolling once, with the highest hand winning the pot. Once a single player has collected all of the washers, this player has won the game. However, any other game design or configuration using the kitis hereby contemplated for use.
150 When two players have an equal high hand in a round, the two players will participate in a tiebreaker where the players each have three rolls to put together their best hand. This is known as the “Tied Nuts” rule. During the tiebreaker round, no additional rolls can be purchased with washers. Players must simply roll their best hand with the three rolls they are given. The player with the highest hand in the tiebreaker wins the pot.
100 100 100 When a nutis not completely seated on its side, for example, it is lying cockeyed against another nutor against another object, this nutwill not count for any score in this roll. This is known as the “Cocked Nuts” rule.
100 100 When two nutsare lying on top of each other, both of these nutsare now wild nuts, which can be assigned any numerical value when putting together the highest possible hand. This is known as the “Stacked Nuts” rule.
100 150 When two nutsland up and are stacked on top of each other in snowman fashion, this is known as “Snowman Nuts”. When someone rolls Snowman Nuts, all players'washersare then placed in the pot. Each player then has three rolls to try and match the current crazy high hand of either “Snowman Nuts” or “Two Snowman Nuts”. If another player succeeds in rolling a set of Snowman Nuts, it is then considered Tied Nuts, and the players then have three rolls to assemble their best hand and take the pot. Rolling Snowman Nuts is something special and deserves a bit of time and consideration for all of the players to consider and relish the experience.
150 150 150 100 10 In an alternate arrangement, the game may comprise the addition of three stacks of different kinds of washersplaced on a washer organizing tray. The organizing tray is similar to a socket organizing tray with posts that the washersslide onto. The washer organizing tray has a handle that locks over the tops of the posts to contain the washersfrom coming off their post. The three stacks of washers consist of three different common grades of nuts, washers, and bolts, grade 2, grade 5, and grade 8. In this alternative arrangement, the game further comprises a betting round after each person is done with their turn rolling their nuts. The next person to roll has the opportunity to raise the pot. Each of the other players can match the additional bet or they can fold and relinquish their original ante to the pot. However, any other game design or configuration using the kitis hereby contemplated for use.
100 100 100 10 In another alternative arrangement, the game comes in a half-hexagonal shaped metal toolbox. The game comes with a board for rolling on made from dove-tailed wood planks that fit together to form the playing board. The playing board is marked with hand outcomes all the way around the perimeter of the board. The interior of the board is marked out with potential individual nutsoutcomes. If a nutslands in a matching outcome the nutscounts as two of its kind. The perimeter outcomes of the roll are marked and kept with a golden marking nut. If a Snowman Nuts is rolled with the top nut showing the matching number the player instantly wins the pot. However, any other game design or configuration using the kitis hereby contemplated for use.
