Technical Abstract

A recording medium, method and apparatus for managing data are discussed. According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a method of reproducing main data and additional data. The method includes receiving the additional data associated with the main data, the additional data being divided into a plurality of segment units; and reproducing the additional data in a synchronous manner with the main data using time information if indication information indicates a presence of the time information. The time information indicates a presentation time of the additional data with respect to the main data. The main data and the additional data are reproduced according to management data, the management data including link information for linking the main data and the additional data.

1

1. A method for reproducing audio or video or other data with additional data, the method being performed by a reproducing device including at least a controller and comprising: receiving audio or video or other data; receiving management data corresponding to the audio or video or other data; receiving additional data describing the audio or video or other data based on identifying information assigned to the additional data; obtaining, from the management data, indication information representing presence of time information as a single indicator; identifying, based on the indication information in the management data, time information associated with a presentation time of the additional data; associating the additional data with the audio or video or other data based on the management data; and reproducing, according to the indication information, the additional data in a synchronous manner with the audio or video or other data, using the time information associated with the presentation time of the additional data, wherein a single audio data or a single video data or a single other data is associated with one or more additional data.

2

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the audio or video or other data and the additional data are received separately, and wherein reproducing the additional data further comprises: reading the additional data and the audio or video or other data separately, and controlling a synchronization of the additional data with respect to the audio or video or other data using the time information.

3

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the indication information is provided separately from the audio or video or other data and the additional data.

4

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the additional information is divided into a plurality of segment units.

5

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the management information includes the indication information.

6

6. The method of claim 4 , wherein each segment unit includes a corresponding time information, and wherein each segment unit is reproduced based on the time information.

7

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the time information is one of a start time or a duration time of the corresponding segment unit.

8

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication information further indicates presence of the time information.

9

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: identifying attribute information of the additional data, wherein the additional data is reproduced based on the identified attribute information.

10

10. A reproducing device comprising: a controller that includes a hardware component configured to: receive audio or video or other data; receive management data corresponding to the audio or video or other data, receive additional data describing the audio or video or other data based on identifying information assigned to the additional data, obtain, from the management data, indication information representing presence of time information as a single indicator, identify, based on the indication information in the management data, time information associated with a presentation time of the additional data; associate the additional data with the audio or video or other data based on the management data, and reproduce, according to the indication information, the additional data in a synchronous manner with the audio or video or other data, using the time information associated with the presentation time of the additional data, wherein a single audio data or a single video data or a single other data is associated with one or more additional data.

11

11. The reproducing device of claim 10 , further comprising a non-transitory storage medium, wherein the non-transitory storage medium is configured to store the additional data describing the audio or video or other data.

12

12. The reproducing device of claim 10 , wherein the additional data is divided into a plurality of segment units.

13

13. The reproducing device of claim 10 , wherein the controller is further configured to identify attribute information of the additional data, and reproduce the additional data based on the identified attribute information.
