1

1. An apparatus in communication with each of a network and one or more wireless clients, the apparatus comprising: a wireless input circuit configured to receive a wireless signal from a first wireless client of the one or more wireless clients, the wireless signal representing a command from the first wireless client; a packet circuit configured to generate each of a plurality of reply packets according to the command received from the first wireless client; and an output circuit configured to periodically transmit, on behalf of the first wireless client, each of the plurality of reply packets to the network in response to the command.

2

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising: an input circuit configured to receive one or more packets of data from the network; and a wireless output circuit configured to respectively transmit the one or more packets of data to the one or more wireless clients.

3

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of packets comprises: an Internet Group Messaging Protocol (IGMP) join packet.

4

4. A method for generating and transmitting a plurality of packets on behalf of a wireless client, the method comprising: receiving a wireless signal from the wireless client, the wireless signal representing a command from the wireless client; generating each of a plurality of reply packets according to the command from the wireless client; and periodically transmitting, on behalf of the wireless client, each of the plurality of reply packets to a network in response to the command.

5

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein each of the plurality of packets comprises: an Internet Group Messaging Protocol (IGMP) join packet.

6

6. A tangible non-transitory computer readable medium storing a computer program executable on a processor, the computer program comprising instructions for: receiving a wireless signal from a wireless client, the wireless signal representing a command from the wireless client; generating each of a plurality of reply packets according to the command from the wireless client; and causing an output circuit to periodically transmit, on behalf of the wireless client, each of the plurality of reply packets to a network in response to the command.

7

7. The tangible non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 6 , wherein each of the plurality of packets comprises: an Internet Group Messaging Protocol (IGMP) join packet.
