A storage medium storing: video data; and graphics data for displaying a menu. The graphics data includes first graphics data displayed on the screen when an activation command is generated by a user and may also include second graphics data displayed on the screen at a designated time.
Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. A non-transitory storage medium comprising: video data having a corresponding video image; and graphics data configured to display a menu on a screen, the graphics data comprising: first graphics data having a first menu configured to be displayed on the screen when an activation command is generated in response to a user input; and second graphics data having a second menu configured to be displayed on the screen at adesignated time; wherein the first menu of the first graphics data is configured to be overlaid on the video data and configured to be displayed together with the video data; and each of the first graphics data and the second graphics data comprises an interactive composition segment structure comprising a type field for discriminating the first graphics data from the second graphics data.
2. The non-transitory storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the first graphics data is multiplexed with the video data and recorded in a single stream.
3. The non-transitory storage medium of claim 1 , wherein the first graphics data and the second graphics data are multiplexed with the video data and recorded in a single stream.
4. A non-transitory storage medium comprising: video data; and graphics data configured to display a menu on a screen, the graphics data comprising: first graphics data configured to be displayed on the screen when an activation command is generated by a user; and second graphics data configured to be displayed on the screen at a designated time; wherein the first graphics data is configured to be overlaid on the video data and configured to be displayed together with the video data; each of the first graphics data and the second graphics data comprises an interactive composition segment structure comprising a type field for discriminating the first graphics data from the second graphics data; the first graphics data and the second graphics data are multiplexed with the video data and recorded in a single stream; and object data used by the first graphics data indicates an image of the menu and is included in an independent stream.
5. A reproducing apparatus configured to reproduce video data and graphics data from a storage medium, the reproducing apparatus comprising: a video decoder configured to decode the video data; and a graphics decoder configured to decode the graphics data for displaying a menu on a screen, the graphics data comprising first graphics data and second graphics data; wherein a first menu of the first graphics data is configured to be displayed on the screen when an activation command is generated in response to a user input, and a second menu of the second graphics data is configured to be displayed on the screen at a designated time; the first menu of the first graphics data is configured to be overlaid on the decoded video data and configured to be displayed together with the decoded video data; and each of the first graphics data and the second graphics data comprises an interactive composition segment structure comprising a type field for discriminating the first graphics data from the second graphics data.
