Technical Abstract

A display apparatus is provided. A frame is fixed and supported at the rear of a front panel forming the front portion of the display apparatus, and a separate bracket member is not mounted on the edges of the front panel. Thus, the front exterior of the display apparatus is neatly finished, and the display screen looks bigger than it actually is.

1. A display apparatus, comprising: a front panel that defines a front of the display apparatus, wherein an entire front surface of the front panel is made of a transparent material, and side edge portions of the front panel are externally exposed; at least one frame attached to a rear surface of the front panel so as to support the front panel, wherein the frame includes a hole of a predetermined size; a display module attached to the frame to output an image; a control panel provided in the hole of the frame to control the display module based on a touch input received on the front surface of the front panel; and a rear housing to accommodate the display module and the frame such that a portion of the display module and a portion of the frame are shielded from view from outside of the display apparatus, wherein the rear housing is close to a rear surface of the front panel without covering the side edge portions of the front panel, and wherein the front panel covers whole of the front surface of the display module and includes the transparent material that covers whole of the front surface of the front panel to enable the image output by the display module to be viewed from outside of the display apparatus.

2. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one frame comprises: an adhering surface on which an adhering member is provided; and a gasket mounting surface on which a grounding gasket is provided.

3. The display apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the at least one frame further comprises a rib to separate the adhering surface and the gasket mounting surface.

4. The display apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the at least one frame is attached to the rear surface of the front panel by the adhering member that is provided on the adhering surface, the adhering member including one of a double-sided tape or an adhesive.

5. The display apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising a gasket formed of a conductive material provided on the gasket mounting surface, wherein the gasket, the at least one frame, and the rear housing are electrically connected to block electromagnetic interference.

The display apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising a gasket formed of a conductive material mounted on the gasket mounting surface and extending to the rear housing along the rear surface of the frame, wherein the frame is formed of a non-conductive material including an injection molded plastic.

7. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one frame comprises a reinforcing rib to reinforce a strength of the frame.

8. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one frame includes an inclined surface on an upper front end, and the display apparatus further comprises a sealing member to cover the inclined surface.

9. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a leakage preventing rib formed on an upper frontal perimeter of the at least one frame to prevent an adhering member from leaking to an outside of the display apparatus.

10. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one frame includes a cavity.

11. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising an opaque film attached to a portion of the rear surface of the front panel to which the frames are coupled, the opaque film to block exposure of the at least one frame.

A display apparatus comprising: a display module to provide an image; a front panel that includes a transmissive material provided on an entire front surface of the front panel and the front panel includes side edge portions that are externally exposed, the front panel including a window to enable the image provided by the display module to be viewed from outside of the display apparatus; a frame provided on a rear surface of the front panel to support the front panel, wherein the frame includes a hole of a predetermined size; a control panel provided in the hole of the frame to control the display module based on a touch input received on the front surface of the front panel; and a rear housing to accommodate the display module and the frame such that the display module and the frame are shielded from view from outside of the display apparatus, wherein the rear housing is provided close to the rear surface of the front panel without covering the side edge portions of the front panel, wherein the transmissive material covers whole of the front surface of the front panel.

13. The display apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the frame comprises: an adhering surface, wherein an adhering member is provided on the adhering surface; and a gasket mounting surface, wherein a grounding gasket is provided on the gasket mounting surface.

14. The display apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the frame further comprises a rib to separate the adhering surface and the gasket mounting surface.

15. The display apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the frame is attached to the rear surface of the front panel by the adhering member provided on the adhering surface, wherein the adhering member includes a double-sided tape or an adhesive.

16. The display apparatus according to claim 13 , further comprising a gasket formed of a conductive material provided on the gasket mounting surface, wherein the gasket, the frame, and the rear housing are electrically connected to block electromagnetic interference.

The display apparatus according to claim 13 , further comprising a gasket formed of a conductive material provided on the gasket mounting surface to extend to the rear housing along the rear surface of the frame, wherein the frame is formed of a non-conductive material including an injection molded plastic.

18. The display apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the frame comprises a reinforcing rib to reinforce a strength of the frame.

19. The display apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the frame includes an inclined surface, and the display apparatus further comprises a sealing member to cover the inclined surface.

21. The display apparatus according to claim 12 , further comprising an opaque film to attach to a portion of the rear surface of the front panel to which the frame is provided, and wherein the opaque film to block exposure of the frame.

A display apparatus, comprising: a front panel that defines a front of the display apparatus, wherein an entire front surface of the front panel is made of a transparent material, and side edge portions of the front panel are externally exposed; an opaque layer formed along a rear perimeter of the front panel; a frame attached to a rear surface of the front panel and having a hole of a predetermined size; a display module attached to the frame; a control panel provided in the hole of the frame for controlling the display apparatus based on a touch input received on the front surface of the front panel; and a rear housing covering at least a printed board provided behind the display module without covering the side edge portions of the front panel, wherein the front panel covers whole of the front surface of the display module and includes the transparent material that covers whole of the front surface of the front panel.

23. The display apparatus according to claim 22 , wherein the frame is formed of a nonconductive material.

24. The display apparatus according to claim 22 , wherein the frame is formed of plastic material.

25. The display apparatus according to claim 22 , wherein the rear housing to accommodate the display module.
