The transmitting and receiving unit (5) converts a reception wave signal from a network into a reception analog baseband signal. The transmitting and receiving unit (5) converts the reception analog baseband signal into a reception digital baseband signal in synchronization with a clock. The information processing terminal (6) converts the reception digital baseband signal into a reception data in synchronization with a clock, and a transmission data into a transmission digital baseband signal in synchronization with the clock. The transmitting and receiving unit (5) converts the transmission digital baseband signal into a transmission analog baseband signal in synchronization with the clock. The transmitting and receiving unit (5) converts the transmission analog baseband signal into a transmission modulation wave signal to output to the network.

An information processing system has a terminal and a detachable transmitting/receiving unit. The transmitting/receiving unit includes high-frequency processing, demodulation, modulation, and baseband processing sections. When attached, the transmitting/receiving unit receives modulated signals from a network, passes them to the demodulation section which converts them into analog baseband signals. The information processing terminal system according to claim 1 , wherein said baseband processing section converts the reception analog baseband signal into a reception digital baseband signal as the reception digital signal to output to said information processing terminal; and converts a transmission digital baseband signal as the transmission digital signal from said information processing terminal into the transmission analog baseband signal, and said information processing terminal converts the reception digital baseband signal from said baseband processing section into the reception data and converts the transmission data into the transmission digital baseband signal.
The information processing system described in Claim 1 specifies the baseband processing section converts the reception analog baseband signal into a reception *digital baseband* signal before sending it as the reception digital signal to the information processing terminal. The transmitting digital signal is a *digital baseband* signal. The terminal converts the received digital baseband signal into the reception data and converts the transmission data into the transmission digital baseband signal before sending.
3. The information processing terminal system according to claim 2 , wherein said information processing terminal comprises: an interface; and a control unit configured to convert the reception digital baseband signal supplied through said interface from said baseband processing section into the reception data and to convert the transmission data into the transmission digital baseband signal to output to said baseband processing section through said interface, and said demodulation section generates and outputs a reception symbol clock having a frequency to said baseband processing section, said interface and said control unit as a clock.
The information processing system detailed in Claim 2 adds that the terminal has an interface and a control unit. The control unit converts the digital baseband signal (received via the interface from the baseband processing section) into reception data. It also converts transmission data into a transmission digital baseband signal, outputting it to the baseband processing section via the interface. Furthermore, the demodulation section generates a reception symbol clock and outputs it to the baseband processing section, the interface, and the control unit, synchronizing their operation.

The information processing terminal system according to claim 2 , wherein said information processing terminal comprises: an interface; and a control unit configured to convert the reception digital baseband signal supplied through said interface from said baseband processing section into the reception data; and to convert the transmission data into the transmission digital baseband signal to output to said baseband processing section through said interface, said transmitting and receiving unit further comprises a clock generator, said transmission and reception processing section generates and outputs a reference signal having a frequency to said clock generator as a clock, said clock generator recovers a carrier of the reception modulation wave signal based on the reference signal from said transmission and reception processing section to output to said demodulation section; and generates and outputs a reception symbol clock to said baseband processing section, said interface and said control unit, said reception symbol clock is synchronous with the reference signal, and said demodulation section, said baseband processing section, said interface and said control unit operate in synchronization with the reception symbol clock.
In the information processing system outlined in Claim 2, the terminal includes an interface and a control unit for converting digital baseband signals to reception data and vice versa. The transmitting/receiving unit incorporates a clock generator. The high-frequency processing section provides a reference signal to the clock generator. Based on this reference signal, the clock generator recovers the carrier of the received signal for demodulation and generates a synchronous reception symbol clock, providing it to the baseband processing section, interface, and control unit to synchronize their operations.

The information processing terminal system according to claim 2 , wherein said information processing terminal comprises: an interface; and a control unit configured to convert the reception digital baseband signal supplied through said interface from said baseband processing section into the reception data; and to convert the transmission data into the transmission digital baseband signal to output to said baseband processing section through said interface, said transmitting and receiving unit further comprises a clock generator, and said clock generator generates a clock through self-oscillation to output to said baseband processing section, said interface and said control unit.
In the information processing system detailed in Claim 2, the terminal contains an interface and a control unit to convert digital baseband signals to reception data and vice versa. The transmitting/receiving unit further includes a clock generator. This clock generator creates a clock signal using self-oscillation and outputs it to the baseband processing section, the interface, and the control unit, thereby synchronizing their operations.

The information processing terminal system according to claim 2 , wherein said information processing terminal comprises: an interface; a control unit configured to convert the reception digital baseband signal supplied through said interface from said baseband processing section into the reception data, and to convert the transmission data into the transmission digital baseband signal to output to said baseband processing section through said interface; and a clock generator, and said clock generator generates a clock through self-oscillation to output to said baseband processing section, said interface and said control unit.
Expanding on the information processing system of Claim 2, the terminal includes an interface, a control unit for baseband signal conversion, and a clock generator. The clock generator self-oscillates to produce a clock signal, providing it to the baseband processing section, the interface, and the control unit, thereby synchronizing their operations. The clock generator is located within the information processing terminal itself.

The information processing terminal system according to claim 1 , wherein said baseband processing section converts the reception analog baseband signal into the reception data as the reception digital signal to output to said information processing terminal and converts the transmission data as the transmission digital signal from said information processing terminal into the transmission analog baseband signal.

The information processing terminal system according to claim 7 , wherein said information processing terminal comprises: an interface; and a control unit configured to receive the reception data through said interface from said baseband processing section, and to output the transmission data to said baseband processing section through said interface, said transmitting and receiving unit further comprises a clock generator, said transmission and reception processing section generates and outputs a reference signal having a frequency to said clock generator as a clock, said clock generator recovers a carrier of the reception modulation wave signal based on the reference signal from said transmission and reception processing section to output to the demodulation section, and generates and outputs a reception symbol clock to said baseband processing section, said interface and said control unit, said reception symbol clock is synchronous with the reference signal, and said demodulation section, said baseband processing section, said interface and said control unit operate in synchronization with the reception symbol clock.

The control unit receives reception data via the interface from the baseband processing section and outputs transmission data to the baseband processing section through the interface. The clock generator recovers the received signal's carrier for demodulation and generates a synchronous reception symbol clock, providing it to the baseband processing section, the interface, and the control unit to synchronize their operations.

The information processing terminal system according to claim 7 , wherein said information processing terminal comprises: an interface; and a control unit configured to receive the reception data through said interface from said baseband processing section, and to output the transmission data to said baseband processing section through said interface, said transmitting and receiving unit further comprises a clock generator, and said clock generator generates a clock through self-oscillation to output to said baseband processing section, said interface and said control unit.
The information processing system described in Claim 7 includes a terminal that comprises an interface and a control unit. The control unit is responsible for receiving reception data through the interface from the baseband processing section and outputting transmission data to the baseband processing section, also through the interface. The transmitting and receiving unit includes a clock generator which generates a clock signal through self-oscillation. This clock signal is output to the baseband processing section, the interface, and the control unit.

The information processing terminal system according to claim 7 , wherein said information processing terminal comprises: an interface; a control unit configured to receive the reception data through said interface from said baseband processing section, and to output the transmission data to said baseband processing section through said interface; and a clock generator, and said clock generator generates a clock through self-oscillation to output to said baseband processing section, said interface and said control unit.
Building upon the information processing system of Claim 7, the terminal includes an interface, a control unit for data transfer, and a clock generator. The control unit receives reception data through the interface from the baseband processing section and outputs transmission data to the baseband processing section through the interface. The clock generator generates a clock signal through self-oscillation, providing it to the baseband processing section, the interface, and the control unit for synchronization.
12. A transmitting and receiving method in an information processing terminal system in which a transmitting and receiving unit is attached to an information processing terminal, comprising: (h) in said transmitting and receiving unit, demodulating a reception modulation wave signal from a network to convert into a reception analog baseband signal; (i) in said transmitting and receiving unit, converting the reception analog baseband signal into a reception digital baseband signal; (j) in said information processing terminal, converting the reception digital baseband signal into a reception data; (k) in said information processing terminal, converting a transmission data into a transmission digital baseband signal; (l) in said transmitting and receiving unit, converting the transmission digital baseband signal into a transmission analog baseband signal; (m) in said transmitting and receiving unit, converting the transmission analog baseband signal into a transmission modulation wave signal; and (n) in said transmitting and receiving unit, transmitting the transmission modulation wave signal to the network.
A method for transmitting and receiving data in an information processing system, where a transmitting/receiving unit is attached to a terminal: (1) Demodulate a received modulated signal from a network into an analog baseband signal in the transmitting/receiving unit. (2) Convert this analog baseband signal into a digital baseband signal, also in the transmitting/receiving unit. (3) In the terminal, convert the digital baseband signal into reception data. (4) In the terminal, convert transmission data into a digital baseband signal. (5) In the transmitting/receiving unit, convert the digital baseband signal into an analog baseband signal. (6) In the transmitting/receiving unit, convert the analog baseband signal into a modulated signal. (7) Transmit the modulated signal to the network, using the transmitting/receiving unit.
13. A transmitting and receiving unit in an information processing terminal system having an information processing terminal and said transmitting and receiving unit which can be attached to or detached from said information processing terminal, comprising a transmission and reception processing section which is a high-frequency processing unit, a demodulation section, a modulation section and a baseband processing section, wherein when said transmitting and receiving unit is attached to said information processing terminal, said transmission and reception processing section outputs a reception modulation wave signal from a network to said demodulation section and transmits a transmission modulation wave signal from said modulation section to said network, said demodulation section converts the reception modulation wave signal from said transmission and reception processing section into a reception analog baseband signal, said baseband processing section converts the reception analog baseband signal into a reception digital signal to output to said information processing terminal, and converts a transmission digital signal from said information processing terminal into a transmission analog baseband signal, said modulation section converts the transmission analog baseband signal into the transmission modulation wave signal, said baseband processing section and said information processing terminal operate in synchronization with a clock, and said reception digital signal contains a reception data and the transmission digital signal contains a transmission data.
A detachable transmitting/receiving unit for an information processing system, which includes a terminal. The transmitting/receiving unit comprises: a high-frequency transmission/reception processing section, a demodulation section, a modulation section, and a baseband processing section. When attached to the terminal, the transmitting/receiving unit: Receives a modulated signal from a network and outputs it to the demodulation section. Transmits a modulated signal from the modulation section to the network. The demodulation section converts the received modulated signal into an analog baseband signal. The baseband processing section converts this analog baseband signal to a digital signal (containing reception data) and sends it to the terminal. The baseband processing section converts digital signal (containing transmission data) from the terminal into an analog baseband signal. The modulation section converts this into a transmission modulated signal. The baseband processing section and the terminal operate synchronously via a clock.
14. The transmitting and receiving unit according to claim 13 , wherein said baseband processing section converts the reception analog baseband signal into a reception digital baseband signal as the reception digital signal to output to said information processing terminal, and converts a transmission digital baseband signal as the transmission digital signal from said information processing terminal into the transmission analog baseband signal, and said information processing terminal converts the reception digital baseband signal from said baseband processing section into the reception data and converts the transmission data into the transmission digital baseband signal.
The transmitting/receiving unit of Claim 13 specifies that the baseband processing section converts the received analog baseband signal into a digital baseband signal (as the reception digital signal) before sending it to the terminal. The transmitting digital signal is also a digital baseband signal. The transmitting and receiving unit according to claim 13 , wherein said baseband processing section converts the reception analog baseband signal into the reception data as the reception digital signal to output to said information processing terminal, and converts the transmission data as the transmission digital signal from said information processing terminal into the transmission analog baseband signal.
The transmitting/receiving unit of Claim 13 has a baseband processing section which converts the received analog baseband signal directly into reception data (as the reception digital signal) and sends it to the terminal. An information processing terminal in an information processing terminal system comprising said information processing terminal and a transmitting and receiving unit which can be attached to or detached from said information processing terminal, wherein said transmitting and receiving unit comprises a transmission and reception processing section which is a high-frequency processing unit, a demodulation section, a modulation section and a baseband processing section, when said transmitting and receiving unit is attached to said information processing terminal, said transmission and reception processing section outputs a reception modulation wave signal from a network to said demodulation section and transmits a transmission modulation wave signal from said modulation section to said network, said demodulation section converts the reception modulation wave signal from said transmission and reception processing section into a reception analog baseband signal, said baseband processing section converts the reception analog baseband signal into a reception digital signal to output to said information processing terminal and converts a transmission digital signal from said information processing terminal into a transmission analog baseband signal, said modulation section converts the transmission analog baseband signal into a transmission modulation wave signal, said baseband processing section and said information processing terminal operate in synchronization with a clock, and the reception digital signal contains a reception data and the transmission digital signal contains a transmission data.

The transmitting digital signal is also a digital *baseband* signal. The information processing terminal according to claim 16 , wherein said baseband processing section converts the reception analog baseband signal into the reception data as the reception digital signal to output to said information processing terminal, and converts the transmission data as the transmission digital signal from said information processing terminal into the transmission analog baseband signal.
