Technical Abstract

Retail point-of-transaction systems, program products, and related computer implemented methods to provide a customized set of identification data to facilitate a retail sales point-of-sale transaction which includes the use of one or more electronic coupons is provided. The retail point-of-sale system can include a computer having memory and configured to facilitate one or more transactions each of which include the use of one or more electronic coupons through a retail point-of-transaction terminal positioned remote from, and adapted to be in communication with, the computer. The computer can also include a set of instructions that when executed by the computer cause the computer to redeem one or more electronic coupons for one or more retail transactions responsive to a customized set of identification data provided by the computer responsive to a data profile derived from a set of personal data of at least one of a plurality of remotely positioned users.

1

1. A computer-implemented method for processing transactions, comprising: receiving, by one or more computing devices and from a communications device operated by a customer, an electronic coupon and personal data to facilitate a transaction between the customer and a merchant; transmitting, by the one or more computing devices, data about the electronic coupon and the customer personal data to a remote server; receiving, by the one or more computing devices and from the remote server, an indication that the transaction is authorized; receiving, by the one or more computing devices and from the remote server, an incentive to promote future transactions by the customer; and presenting, by the one or more computing devices, the incentive to the customer.

2

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the personal data comprises one or more of a personal identification, an account identifier, user payment data, and a password.

3

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, by the one or more computing devices from the remote server, a customized image of the customer and displaying the image on a point of transaction terminal at a merchant location.

4

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising converting, by the one or more computing devices, information received from the consumer into a bar code display format that is electronically readable by a point of transaction terminal at a merchant location.

5

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the data about the electronic coupon comprises information relating to a coupon in the barcode format that is electronically readable by a point of transaction terminal at a merchant location.

6

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the incentive comprises information relating to a new coupon in the barcode format that is electronically readable by a point of transaction terminal at a merchant location.

7

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, by the one or more computing devices and from the consumer, an indication that the consumer desires to engage in the transaction.

8

8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising logging, by the remote server, a geographical location of the consumer in response to receiving from the one or more computing devices the indication that the consumer desires to engage in the transaction.

9

9. The method of claim 8 , comparing, by the remote server, the indication that the consumer desires to engage in the transaction to the personal data to determine whether the transaction is authorized.

10

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein comparing the indication that the consumer desires to engage in the transaction to the personal data input by the consumer comprises verifying the identity of the consumer.

11

11. A computer program product, comprising: a non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-readable program instructions embodied therein that when executed by a computer cause the computer to process transactions, the computer-readable program instructions comprising: computer-readable program instructions for receiving from a communications device operated by a customer, an electronic coupon and customer data to facilitate a transaction between the customer and a merchant; computer-readable program instructions for transmitting data about the electronic coupon and the customer data to a remote server; computer-readable program instructions for receiving from the remote server an indication that the transaction is authorized; computer-readable program instructions for receiving from the remote server an incentive to promote future transactions by the customer; and computer-readable program instructions for presenting the incentive to the customer.

12

12. The computer program product of claim 11 , wherein the customer data comprises one or more of a personal identification, an account identifier, user payment data, and a password.

13

13. The computer program product of claim 11 , wherein the data about the electronic coupon comprises information relating to a coupon in the barcode format that is electronically readable by a point of transaction terminal at a merchant location.

14

14. The computer program product of claim 11 , wherein the incentive comprises information relating to a new coupon in the barcode format that is electronically readable by a point of transaction terminal at a merchant location.

15

15. The computer program product of claim 11 , wherein the remote server authorized the transaction at least in part in response to comparing a geographic location of the consumer when the consumer indicates a desire to engage in the transaction to the personal data.

16

16. A system for processing transactions, comprising: a storage device; and a processor communicatively coupled to the storage device, wherein the processor executes application code instructions that are stored in the storage device to cause the system to: receive from a communications device operated by a customer, an electronic coupon and customer data to facilitate a transaction between the customer and a merchant; transmit data about the electronic coupon and the customer data to a remote server; receive from the remote server an indication that the transaction is authorized; receive from the remote server an incentive to promote future transactions by the customer; and present the incentive to the customer.

17

17. The system of claim 16 , wherein the customer data comprises one or more of a personal identification, an account identifier, user payment data, and a password.

18

18. The system of claim 16 , wherein the data about the electronic coupon comprises information relating to a coupon in the barcode format that is electronically readable by a point of transaction terminal at a merchant location.

19

19. The system of claim 16 , wherein the incentive comprises information relating to a new coupon in the barcode format that is electronically readable by a point of transaction terminal at a merchant location.

20

20. The system of claim 16 , wherein the remote server authorized the transaction at least in part in response to comparing a geographic location of the consumer when the consumer indicates a desire to engage in the transaction to the personal data.
