A mobile computing device hosts an operating system and mobile applications. A provisioning application communicates with a secure element and near field communication (NFC) subsystem. It causes display of an interface for users to enter personal attributes for storage in the secure element. Users discriminately select items from their personal attributes for transmission to a third party recipient so only attributes relative to the third party are sent. Software, interfaces, methods, and apparatus typify the embodiments.
Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. A method for provisioning user attributes on a mobile computing device for near field communications, comprising: displaying an interface to users for entry of personal attributes for storage in a secure element of the mobile computing device; enabling the users to discriminately select attributes from said personal attributes; and bundling together only said select attributes of the personal attributes for communication by a near field communicator of the mobile computing device to third party recipients of the select attributes, further including communicating with a positioning system of the mobile computing device so the users can make selections from said personal attributes according to a present location of the mobile computing device.
2. The method of claim 1 , further including enabling the users to make selections of the personal attributes according to a list of known recipients.
3. The method of claim 1 , further including receiving input from the third party recipients recommending which attributes of the personal attributes are relevant for the bundling together.
4. The method of claim 3 , further including automatically populating from the secure element as many attributes as possible according to the recommendations of the third party recipients.
5. The method of claim 1 , further including communicating with an address book, list of contacts, calendar, clock, or mapping function of the mobile computing device and suggesting to the users or automatically selecting a profile of multiple said personal attributes based upon said communicating with the address book, list of contacts, calendar, clock, or mapping function.
6. The method of claim 1 , further including enabling the users to aggregate together multiple attributes of the personal attributes for communication as a common profile to the third party recipients.
7. The method of claim 1 , further including transmitting and receiving the personal attributes according to a near field communications protocol.
8. The method of claim 1 , further including transmitting and receiving the personal attributes according to a Bluetooth or wireless USB protocol.
