Technical Abstract

Disclosed herein is an image monitoring system including: a camera connected to a network; display means for displaying an image captured by the camera; and display control means for controlling display such that, in displaying images by the display means, an image is displayed in a window having a predetermined layout; wherein, the display control means presets an allocation database containing a correlation between the window having a predetermined layout and a camera identification code and, when the camera is connected to the network, automatically sets a correlation between the camera identification code in the allocation database and the camera, thereby controlling image display into the window on the basis of the allocation database.

1

1. An image monitoring system comprising: plural cameras connected to a network; display section to display images captured by said cameras; and display control section to control the display section such that, in displaying images by said display section at least one of the images is displayed in a window having a mode of a first layout or a mode of a second layout; wherein the images are shown at a position based on first correlation information between a position in the first layout and an identification information relating camera information, when a layout of the window is changed from the second layout to the first layout; and wherein the first correlation information is prepared when the cameras are connected to the network.

2

2. The image monitoring system according to claim 1 , wherein the first correlation information is automatically prepared when the cameras are connected to the network.

3

3. The image monitoring system according to claim 1 , wherein the camera information includes address information on the network corresponding to the camera.

4

4. The image monitoring system according to claim 1 , wherein said display control section is configured to control the display section to display identification information with images in the first layout.

5

5. The image monitoring system according to claim 1 , wherein the display control section is configured to control the display section so that the first and second layouts are shown and selectable.

6

6. The image monitoring system according to claim 5 , wherein the first and second layouts are shown with the identification information.

7

7. The image monitoring system according to claim 1 , wherein said display control section is configured so that all layouts are shown and selectable.

8

8. A display control apparatus comprising: storing section to store first correlation information between a position in a first layout and an identification information relating camera information; and display control section to control a display section such that, in displaying images by said display section, at least one of the images captured by cameras is displayed in a window having a mode of the first layout or a mode of a second layout; wherein the images captured by the cameras are shown at a position based on the first correlation information between the position in the first layout and the identification information relating camera information, when a layout of the window is changed from the second layout to the first layout; and wherein the cameras are connected to a network, and the first correlation information is prepared when the cameras are connected to the network.

9

9. The display control apparatus according to claim 8 wherein the first correlation information is automatically prepared when the cameras are connected to the network.

10

10. The display control apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein the camera information includes address information on the network corresponding to the camera.

11

11. The display control apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein the display control section is configured to control the display section to display identification information with images in the first layout.

12

12. The display control apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein said display control section is configured to control the display section so that the first and second layouts are shown and selectable.

13

13. The display control apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the first and second layouts are shown with the identification information.

14

14. The display control apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein said display control section is configured so that all layouts are shown and selectable.

15

15. An image monitoring system comprising: plural cameras connected to a network; display section displaying images captured by said cameras; and display control controlling the display section such that, in displaying images by said display section, at least one of the images is displayed in a window having a mode of a first layout or a mode of a second layout; wherein the images are shown at a position based on first correlation information between a position in the first layout and an identification information relating camera information, when a layout of the window is changed from the second layout to the first layout; and wherein the first correlation information is prepared when the cameras are connected to the network.

16

16. A display control apparatus comprising: storing section storing first correlation information between a position in a first layout and an identification information relating camera information; and display control section controlling a display section such that, in displaying images by said display section, at least one of the images captured by cameras is displayed in a window having a mode of the first layout or a mode of a second layout; wherein the images captured by the cameras are shown at a position based on the first correlation information between the position in the first layout and the identification information relating camera information, when a layout of the window is changed from the second layout to the first layout; and wherein the cameras are connected to a network, and the first correlation information is prepared when the cameras are connected to the network.

17

17. A method of an image monitoring system comprising the steps of: displaying images captured by cameras; and controlling a display section such that, in displaying images by said display section, at least one of the images is displayed in a window having a mode of a first layout or a mode of a second layout; wherein the images are shown at a position based on first correlation information between a position in the first layout and an identification information relating camera information, when a layout of the window is changed from the second layout to the first layout; and wherein the first correlation information is prepared when the cameras are connected to a network.

18

18. A method of a display control apparatus comprising the steps of: storing first correlation information between a position in a first layout and an identification information relating camera information; and controlling a display section such that, in displaying images by said display section, at least one of the images captured by cameras is displayed in a window having a mode of the first layout or a mode of a second layout; wherein the images captured by the cameras are shown at a position based on the first correlation information between the position in the first layout and the identification information relating camera information, when a layout of the window is changed from the second layout to the first layout; and wherein the cameras are connected to a network, and the first correlation information is prepared when the cameras are connected to the network.
