An ultrasound probe diagnosing apparatus which diagnoses an ultrasound probe having an array of a plurality of ultrasound transducing elements on the basis of how the ultrasound probe receives reflected ultrasound waves from a test object placed to face the ultrasound probe, includes a part which detects a posture of the ultrasound probe with respect to the test object by comparing reflected ultrasound signals received by at least some of the plurality of ultrasound transducing elements, and a presenting part which presents information based on the detected posture.
Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. An ultrasound probe diagnosing system, comprising: an ultrasound probe; a microprocessor configured to: control the ultrasound probe to transmit an ultrasound signal to a test object; obtain a predetermined feature value of a reflected ultrasound signal received from the test object by the ultrasound probe; generate, based on the predetermined feature value of the reflected ultrasound signal, a simulation image by image simulation by using a point spread function (PSF), the simulation image including a virtual ultrasound probe constructed to have a feature corresponding to the obtained feature value; and a display that side-by-side displays both (1) presentation information for presenting the simulation image and (2) a reference image obtained by the ultrasound probe, the reference image being predetermined based on identification information of the ultrasound probe type, to allow the simulation image and the reference image that are displayed side-by-side to be compared with each other.
2. An ultrasound probe diagnosing method of diagnosing an ultrasound probe, comprising: controlling the ultrasound probe to transmit an ultrasound signal to a test object; obtaining a predetermined feature value of a reflected ultrasound signal received from the test object by the ultrasound probe; generating, based on the predetermined feature value of the reflected ultrasound signal, a simulation image by image simulation, by using a point spread function (PSF), the simulation image obtained by an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus including a virtual ultrasound probe constructed to have a feature corresponding to the obtained feature value; and generating presentation information for side-by-side presenting (1) the simulation image and (2) a reference image obtained by the ultrasound probe, the reference image being predetermined based on identification information of the ultrasound probe type, to allow the simulation image and the reference image that are displayed side-by-side to be compared with each other.
