Technical Abstract

A method, performed by a mobile management entity (MME), for providing a voice call service to a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system and the MME are provided. The method includes receiving, from a mobile management entity (MME), a first message for paging to provide the voice call service to the UE; and sending, to the MME, a second message including a cause associated with a domain change from a packet switching (PS) domain to a circuit switching (CS) domain, wherein, if the MME receives the second message, a third message for requesting suspension of a bearer to provide a service for the UE is sent to a gateway in the PS domain.

1

1. A method, performed by an evolved node B (eNB), for providing a voice call service to a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system, the method comprising: receiving, from a mobile management entity (MME), a first message for paging to provide the voice call service to the UE; and sending, to the MME, a second message including a cause associated with a domain change from a packet switching (PS) domain to a circuit switching (CS) domain, wherein, if the MME receives the second message, a third message for requesting suspension of a bearer to provide a service for the UE is sent to a gateway in the PS domain.

2

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: setting before the MME transmits the first message, information associated with the UE to a suspended state.

3

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first message comprises a Core Network (CN) domain indicator for indicating a domain where the UE is located in order to receive the voice call service.

4

4. An evolved node B (eNB) for providing a voice call service to a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system, the eNB comprising: a transceiver for transmitting and receiving messages; a controller configured to: control the transceiver to receive, from a mobile management entity (MME), a first message for paging to provide the voice call service to the UE, and control the transceiver to transmit, to the MME, a second message including a cause associated with a domain change from a packet switching (PS) domain to a circuit switching (CS) domain, wherein, if the MME receives the second message, a third message for requesting suspension of a bearer to provide a service for the UE is sent to a gateway in the PS domain.

5

5. The eNB of claim 4 , wherein, before the MME transmits the first message, information associated with the UE is set to a suspended state.

6

6. The eNB of claim 4 , wherein the first message comprises a Core Network (CN) domain indicator for indicating a domain where the UE is located in order to receive the voice call service.
