Systems, method and apparatus of managing wireless communication are described herein.
Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. A method of wireless communication, comprising: receiving a data unit comprising a first indicator signifying whether a control field is present in the data unit; determining that the control field is present based on the first indicator; determining whether the control field is a first type of control field or a second type of control field based at least in part on a second indicator in the control field; and processing the control field based on the type of the control field.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second indicator is the first bit of the control field.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second indicator indicates whether the control field type is very high throughput (VHT) or high throughput (HT).
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second indicator is a reserved bit in the control field.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first indicator is an order bit.
6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the order bit is included in a MAC header in the data unit.
7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the order bit is included in a frame control field of the MAC header.
8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the control field comprises an HT control field in the MAC header.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the data unit comprises a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU).
10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining a modulation coding scheme (MCS) based on the control field.
11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting a request for MCS feedback, wherein the data unit is received in response to the request.
12. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising: a receiver configured to receive a data unit comprising a first indicator signifying whether a control field is present in the data unit; and a processing system configured to: if the first indicator signifies that the control field is present, determine whether the control field is a first type of control field or a second type of control field based at least in part on a second indicator in the control field; and process the control field based on the type of the control field.
13. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the second indicator is the first bit of the control field.
14. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the second indicator indicates whether the control field type is very high throughput (VHT) or high throughput (HT).
15. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the second indicator is a reserved bit in the control field.
16. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the first indicator is an order bit.
17. The apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the order bit is included in a MAC header in the data unit.
18. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the order bit is included in a frame control field of the MAC header.
19. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the control field comprises an HT control field in the MAC header.
20. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the data unit comprises a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU).
21. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the processing system is further configured to determine a modulation coding scheme (MCS) based on the control field.
22. The apparatus of claim 12 , further comprising a transmitter configured to transmit a request for MCS feedback, wherein the data unit is received in response to the request.
23. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising: means for receiving a data unit comprising a first indicator signifying whether a control field is present in the data unit; means for determining, if the first indicator signifies that the control field is present, whether the control field is a first type of control field or a second type of control field based at least in part on a second indicator in the control field; and means for processing the control field based on the type of the control field.
24. The apparatus of claim 23 , wherein the second indicator is the first bit of the control field.
25. The apparatus of claim 23 , wherein the second indicator indicates whether the control field type is very high throughput (VHT) or high throughput (HT).
26. The apparatus of claim 23 , wherein the second indicator is a reserved bit in the control field.
27. The apparatus of claim 23 , wherein the first indicator is an order bit.
28. The apparatus of claim 27 , wherein the order bit is included in a MAC header in the data unit.
29. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the order bit is included in a frame control field of the MAC header.
30. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the control field comprises an HT control field in the MAC header.
31. The apparatus of claim 23 , wherein the data unit comprises a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU).
32. The apparatus of claim 23 , further comprising means for determining a modulation coding scheme (MCS) based on the control field.
33. The apparatus of claim 23 , further comprising means for transmitting a request for MCS feedback, wherein the data unit is received in response to the request.
34. A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that when executed cause an apparatus to: receive a data unit comprising a first indicator signifying whether a control field is present in the data unit; if the first indicator signifies that the control field is present, determine whether the control field is a first type of control field or a second type of control field based at least in part on a second indicator in the control field; and process the control field based on the type of the control field.
35. A user terminal, comprising: at least one antenna; a receiver configured to receive, via the antenna, a data unit comprising a first indicator signifying whether a control field is present in the data unit; and a processing system configured to: if the first indicator signifies that the control field is present, determine whether the control field is a first type of control field or a second type of control field based at least in part on a second indicator in the control field; and process the control field based on the type of the control field.
